1976: Steve Strange is inspired to work in music after watching the Sex Pistols in Caerphilly

1977: Forms his own band The Moors Murderers, which included Chrissie Hynde

1978: Strange founds new pop band Visage alongside fellow founding member Rusty Egan

1979: The singer is invited to London by Billy Idol to run Tuesday nights at the Blitz Club

1980: Appears in the video for David Bowie's No1 hit Ashes To Ashes

1980: Visage release Fade To Grey, which would be their most famous track

1981: Club nights move to Club For Heroes, followed by the Camden Palace in 1982

1985: Steve battles £100-a-day addiction to heroin and Visage split

1988: He kicked the habit with a one-way ticket to Ibiza to host more parties

2000: Arrested and given a suspended sentence for stealing £10.99 Teletubby doll

2002: A revival of Visage saw Visage Mk II take part in the Here And Now Tour

2002: Blitzed! The autobiography of his heroin addiction and relationships is released

2014: Admitted to hospital with bronchial infection, intestinal blockage and breathing difficulties
